The Null Device

The Australian national firewall

The next stage of the Australian police state may have been announced; after their triumph with workplace relations, sedition laws and making universities inhospitable to student leftism, a sizeable contingent of the Tories are pushing for mandatory internet filtering. Of course, because Australia Is A Liberal Democracy, those perverts who want to look at porn could apply to do so after signing the perverts' register, getting a National Pervert Number which could be entered into the firewall page, giving one a less-filtered level of access.

It remains to be seen whether this suggestion will become government policy.

Guess what : France's currently thinking about making unauthorized protected contents access filtering mandatory for ...em... any device, including IP routers. (we'll see abt this in a few weeks from now). Most other E.U. will soon have similar but maybe lighter law.

Yet again more drivel from the "won't someone think of the children" jackboot brigade. Of course, they only mean filtering pornographic content and if this happens to mean that other seditious content, such as, oh, I don't know, like evolutionary theory, for example, gets filtered out, then it's a small price to pay for our children's safety.

If these turds are so concerned about the safety of the children, they could start by banning the Catholic church from having access to them and stop bombing the crap out of them in other countries.

But what would I know, I'm just a loonie lefty with carpel tunnel syndrome.
